Ray Wijewardene Memorial Lecture 2013

Ray Wijewardene Memorial Lecture 2013 on “Innovation through the Eyes of an Entrepreneur” was delivered by Deshamanya Mahesh Amalean, PhD h.c., on 22 August 2013 at the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) auditorium, Colombo.

Amalean is Chairman of MAS Holdings (Pvt.) Ltd, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology, and Executive Member of the Joint Apparel Association Forum.

Challenging the accepted norm has been a key element of Amalean’s management philosophy, who together with his brothers Sharad and Ajay, started MAS Holdings in 1987.  Today, MAS Holdings is one of Sri Lanka’s largest conglomerates and one of the most respected private companies with an empowered workforce where employees are encouraged to continuously challenge the process and status quo and to be innovative.
